CAD Design Software For Landscape Design

One of my friends is a plastic injection mold Designer, but he has used his training for all kinds of applications, including CAD Landscape Design Software. In fact, he even has loaded his house plan, complete with landscaping, as the background on his smart phone. Smart guy!

Because he is using CAD Design Software that was developed for mechanical applications, not house or landscaping, he had to actually create the doors, windows, sidewalk and plants.

Most better applications include libraries of shrubs, grass, rocks, paver bricks, patio decking materials and just about anything else you might want to include in a landscaping project.

Some of these libraries are quite complete, and some even have up-to-date inventories from leading home building suppliers, such as Lowe's or Home Depot. I'm not sure, but it would not surprise me if you could even order from the program.
My friend told me that, when he build his deck, he had included every single detail and was able to have everything pre-cut to exact sizes, so all he had to do was pick up the materials and basically assemble them.

That approach eliminates a lot of guesswork, trips to the hardware store, and certainly reduces waste. Instead of ordering a little bit more than he needed, just to be sure, he got only what he actually needed, with almost no cutting and no scrap.

The 3D graphics in better Landscape Design Software programs is simply stunning. You can get a very realistic impression of how things work together before buying. With a few clicks of the mouse you can try different fencing, change the trees or shrubs, add patio stones, insert a fire-pit and so on. This is a great feature that opens up all kinds of creative possibilities.

It is surprising how inexpensive some of the better programs are. You can spend as little as $30, which will not give you much at all, and all the way up to $2500. Fortunately, for around $100 you can buy a very nice Software program that will do anything that a homeowner could ever want. The next step up is the professional type applications that are meant for larger landscaping companies.

One great feature is the way the various components are integrated. For example: if you make a change to the side of the deck, the change is made in every other view and level. This is a great time saver and is one of those features normally found in higher end programs.

Summary

Anyone serious about landscaping their property should take a serious look at the different CAD Landscape Design Software programs on the market. You will have a much more congruous plan and save yourself money and wasted effort.

Family Room Interior Design Ideas

Family Rooms are a very popular space in the home where the family relaxes and come together to enjoy TV, study and other activities. Since the Room is well used and lived in, the furniture undertakes heavy usage and the décor looses its freshness quickly.

Since the family Room has to cater to adults and kids, it should contain elements that all family members enjoy. Scour your home from storage to other Rooms and find things than can be use in your family Room. You can decorate the Room with old furniture after having it reupholstered, matching it with a throw rug that can animate the effect of the vintage furniture.
Interior decoration Ideas provide good guidance for family Rooms you can use one decorative piece or piece of furniture as the focal point and decorate around it. One high quality piece of furniture, electronics or a painting can carry the effect of the whole Room and you can decorate around it. Be careful and don't over decorate, since all the family members will spend time there space is important. A good suggestion is having multi-tasking furniture that can be opened and folded back to save space.

Rather than buying expensive furniture and décor that match, look for diverse pieces with a unifying theme, color and style for the family Room. A popular trend is cushions that don't precisely match the couch. You can use the basic couch, but have slipcovers custom made for the cushions and replace them. You can always use the original covers later, always use a vibrant and exciting shade in fabrics.

If your family Room already has a monochromatic color scheme, use other colors. Move away from standard accessories for color and add a chair, a bean bag or a rug that is full of color which brings a new energy to the Room. You can add a study table with book shelves or a TV theatre system, whatever the add-in it should be vibrant and should appeal to the whole family complementing the color scheme at the same time.

A simple change in furniture arrangement gives any Room a new look. If you can change the traffic flow of the Room you'll find it has a different feel altogether. If there are multiple focal points in your Room change focus to from the old point to a new one.

The family Room is usually arranged around a focal point, so by changing the way the main feature appears can change the look of the Room. A new entertainment center or a LED television can make this change, and other tricks can be retiling the fireplace or replacing the mantle. If the window is the focal point redecorate the windows.

All changes in the family Room should be in line with the needs of all family members. So, you should generally choose the bigger Room to include most activities like books and reading table, TV & entertainment system, a place for the PC and an area for babies or kids toys. Storage is a very important point for family Rooms to make space. Modern decoration Ideas include walls with spaces to place the home theatre system and book shelves with a retractable table for readers.

Using an Interior Design Magazine to Get Feng Shui Tips

When it comes to Interior Design, feng shui is still quite a popular approach. Feng shui is the ancient Chinese art of Design. It literally translates to "wind and water." Feng shui is all about chi, or your life energy, and having it flow continually throughout each room. If a room is disorganized, the chi cannot flow properly and therefore, you will have disorganization in your life as well. When we are rid of obstacles in our home, we promote a peaceful and calm life. Even if you don't believe in the essence of chi, it's still good Interior Design practice. Clutter never looks good.

The bedroom is one of the most important rooms in the house. It is where you rest and regain strength. This is your sanctuary, so it needs to be serene. A strong headboard will ensure that your chi is protected while you sleep. Never place a mirror across from the bed. Work and rest need to be separated, therefore, do not have any desks or computers in the bedroom. A nightstand on each side of the bed will promote stability. In terms of colors, choose soft and warm ones, especially pastels. Art and paintings that depict happiness will promote the same in your life.
Even more important than the bedroom is the kitchen. You don't need to worry about entire kitchen remodeling in order to have good feng shui. Your kitchen need not be crammed with too many appliances. Of course you need the refrigerator, stove, and microwave, but try to keep smaller gadgets out of sight. The stove should be placed where the chef can have full view of the kitchen. If this is not possible, don't start kitchen remodeling. You can fix this by putting a mirror above the stove so you can see the entire room. The kitchen needs excellent lighting and should be as spacious as possible. Sinks and refrigerators should be diagonal from the stove -fire and water do not mix. Microwaves should not be placed above a stove because it is considered a bad omen.

Next comes the Interior Design of your living room, a place for family and friends to gather and entertain. Any seating should be facing the door and never in front of windows, blocking chi. If the living room is also the family room, place any electronics in closed hutches to separate room functions. A fireplace should always be the focal point of the room. Dark corners need to be lit with floor and table lamps. When choosing colors and furniture, there should be a balance of the yin and yang. Have both soft and dark colors, high and low furniture, and horizontal and vertical items. When hanging mirrors, do not place them opposite the door and they should not reflect a bathroom, kitchen, or staircase.

When it comes to the art of feng shui, it may seem like there are many rules. But in reality, it comes down to balance and simplicity. When looking at furniture pictures in home Interior Magazines, it's always the simple pictures that look the best. Un-clutter your home and you can un-clutter your life.
